General Motors have showcased a special edition of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup at the Bangkok Motor Show. The Chevrolet Colorado Sport Edition is only available on the Colorado Crew-Cab 2.5L 2WD High-Stance and Extended-Cab 2.5L 2WD High-Stance.
The Colorado's platform is shared with the Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV that visitors to the Delhi Auto Expo know very well. In Thailand and other Asian markets, it competes with the Toyota Hilux (Fortuner relative), Ford Ranger (Endeavour relative) and the Isuzu D-Max (MU-7 relative).
500 units of the Sport edition of the midsize pickup truck will be produced and for distinguishing them from the standard models, the pickups have LED Daytime Running Lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, side steps, nudge guard at the front, a 'sports' bar with integrated brake light on the bed of the truck, and decals.
Indoors, the Colorado Sport Edition gets a media infotainment system with GPS navigation, DVD capability and USB connectivity.
GM announced three colors for the Sport Edition which are Orange Rock, Black Sapphire and Summit White. Mechanically the vehicles are similar featuring a 2.5-liter diesel engine that delivers 161 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
