New details have emerged on Chevrolet's plans for the Auto Expo 2014. We had reported earlier that the company would bring the Beat Facelift, apart from a few display only models.
Now Autocar India reports that Chevrolet will conduct a global debut for the Chevrolet Adra concept at the Auto Expo 2014. The Adra concept would be a sub-4meter compact SUV keeping Indian conditions in mind. It will compete with the likes of the Renault Duster and the Ford EcoSport. The Adra concept is based on GM's Gamma 2 global platform that underpins the Beat, Sonic and the Trax.
The smallest SUV in GM's arsenal now is the Trax. The Trax, however, is 4.2 meters in length, making it a tad too lengthy to duck under the 4 meter mark, making it ineligible for excise benefits. The report states power for the Adra would come from the same 1.3-liter diesel engine that produces 77 hp that powers the Sail and the Enjoy.
Apart from the Adra concept and the Beat facelift, Chevrolet will display the Chevrolet Sail U-VA accessorized, Chevrolet Sail accessorized, Chevrolet Enjoy accessorized, Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
