After Jawa, Classic Legends is working to revive other iconic brands like Yezdi and BSA. While the return of the BSA and Yezdi brands is still some time away, we have a restored motorcycle here that is in its prime shape thanks to the efforts of IAB reader R Deena Dayalan. The Mysore based two-wheeler collector owns some of the rarest motorcycles and scooters in the country that include Royal Enfield Mofa, Explorer, 1973 Vespa with Douglas Kit and a Rajdoot Runabout among others.

This time, R Deena has shared the images and details of his 1987 Yezdi 350. The motorcycle completes his Jawa collection that comprises Yezdi Classic 250, Roadking, Jawa Jet 50 cc and the Jawa Pioneer 50 cc.

The motorcycle wasn’t in its best shape when R Deena found it. He purchased the motorcycle from Punjab for INR 90,000 and spent another INR 50,000 on restoration. The spares for the motorcycle are very costly and difficult to source. In fact, R Deena had to shell out approximately INR 27,000 for the front wheel hub, which he found via Facebook.

The motorcycle was given a complete makeover. The black paint on the original motorcycle was replaced with silver colour while the contrasting graphics were given a red finish. The Yezdi branding can be seen on the fuel tank while the side panels feature the 350 tag. Jawa branding can be seen on the engine. In case you are wondering, Ideal Jawa sold licensed Jawa motorcycles beginning in 1960 under the brand name Jawa and from 1973 as Yezdi.

All the chrome bits on the Yezdi 350 Twin such as the front fender, the headlight mask and the exhaust pipes among others shine just as good as new.

The motorcycle uses a 350 cc, two-stroke, twin cylinder, single carbureted, air-cooled engine that delivers 21 BHP of maximum power at 5,500 rpm and 31.4 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine comes paired to a four-speed gearbox and can accelerate the motorcycle from 0-60 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
