Aston Martin has launched the new Vantage in the Indian market, pricing it at INR 2.86 crore (ex-Showroom). The new Aston Martin Vantage, which is the second of seven new models in seven years under Aston's 'Second Century Plan', is based on the new architecture shared with the DB11, and utilises powertrain and infotainment technology from Mercedes-Benz, like the DB11.
Power for the new Vantage comes from Mercedes-AMG's M177 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine developing 510 PS and 685 Nm, paired to an 8-speed transmission. According to the company, the engine is set low and as far back as possible for a 50:50 weight distribution. The rear wheel driven Vantage features a rear mounted ZF transmission and is the first Aston Martin to be fitted with an Electronic Rear Differential (E-Diff). Aston claims a 0-100 km/h time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h.
Aston says the E-Diff is linked to the electronic stability program and can understand the car's behaviour and react accordingly to direct engine power to the relevant wheel. The chassis meanwhile is made of bonded aluminium structure, similar to the DB11. However, 70 percent of the structure features new components for the Vantage.

Stopping power for the Aston Martin Vantage comes from ventilated two-piece steel brake discs of 400 mm diameter at the front and ventilated co-cast brake discs of 360 mm diameter at the rear. As standard, buyers get 20-inch Vantage 'Y' Silver spoke wheels shod with Pirelli 255/40 up front and 295/35 at the back. Other safety kit include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Positive Torque Control (PTC) and Dynamic Torque Vectoring (DTV).
