Last week, we asked you whether you like the design of 9th generation Honda Accord. We got mixed views from you guys but perhaps those were because we showed you press shots.
Press shots are mostly photo-shopped to make them look good on the computer desktop. So here we have some snaps of the new Honda Accord caught near a dealer’s parking lot.
As one can see, the car is completely uncamouflaged ready to board a trailer to meet its owner. Honda claims that the 9th generation Accord is ‘the most sculpted Accord ever’. As one can see, the new Accord gets an overdose of chrome bling on the front fascia. The new headlamps are a bit fussy with four barrels and an LED DRL strip.
Very few changes have been made to the side profile that feels uncomfortably similar to the outgoing car. The key highlight of the side view is a thick character line that starts from the front fender and fades out at the rear door handle. We love the new ten-spoke alloy design.
The rear is stuffed with the right amount of chrome inserts. The new tail lamps, from the three-quarters angle, seems to be inspired by the BMW 5 Series. The interiors have also been redesigned comprehensively with new soft touch plastic. The brushed-aluminium finish around the edges complements the black interior.
Honda will unveil its new Accord sedan on Monday at the Ohio factory and we will get you more live images from the event. Honda hasn't released many details but the have promised that the new Accord will have a sportier driving character.
Looking at Honda India’s current state of affairs and a strong opposition for petrol launches, we doubt there is any plan to bring this Accord to India any time soon. Eventually we believe it should make it to our roads, with a diesel engine in the kitty.
