Range topping Triumph Tiger 800 XCa launched in India at INR 15,16,700

Triumph Motorcycles India has extended its Tiger 800 range with the launch of the XCa variant. The range-topping Tiger 800 XCa has been launched at an ex-showroom Delhi price tag of INR 15,16,700, a premium of INR 1,13,200 lakh over the XCx variant that retails at INR 14,03,500.

The top-spec adventure bike gets superior hardware over the lower variant. Shock absorption tasks are performed by 43 mm inverted front forks with 220 mm of travel and monoshock at the rear with 215 mm of travel – both sourced from WP. Stopping power comes from twin 305 mm discs at the front with Brembo 2-piston callipers and a single 255 mm disc at the rear with Nissin calliper.

The Tiger 800 XCA is equipped with switchable traction control, switchable ABS, cruise control, backlit switches and 5-way joystick and six riding modes including new ‘Off-Road Pro’.

Standard equipment on the motorcycle includes full-LED lighting (headlight, blinkers and tail lamp), LED auxiliary lights, centre stand heated seats for rider and pillion, sump and radiator guards, engine protection bars, plastic knuckle guards and two power sockets. The cockpit features a five-inch full-colour TFT display with six screen styles to select. The screen displays digital speedometer, trip computer, digital tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, service indicator, ambient temperature, clock and five rider modes.

Being an off-road focused motorcycle, the Tiger XC range comes with wire spoke wheels with a 21-inch unit at the front. At the rear, there is a 17-inch wheel.

Powering the Triumph Tiger 800 XCa is an 800 cc, liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder engine that is mated to a six-speed gearbox and delivers 95 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 79Nm of peak torque at 8,050rpm.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XCA would compete against the BMW F850GS, Ducati Multistrada 950 and the Honda Africa Twin in the Indian market.
