The Tata Altroz EV has been officially unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The all-electric version of the Tata Altroz is currently in a prototype stage. It will go on sale by early 2021.

As in case of most pure electric variants of regular cars, the Tata Altroz's battery-powered variant has a cleaner design. At the front, it has a closed-off version of the wide grille along with an EV badge. Moreover, in comparison to the near-production Altroz, its electric version features a more stylish bumper design and has no air dam.
On the sides, it features larger alloy wheels shod with low profile tires. That said, some of these details will be watered down once the car reaches the production stage. Even the interior is slightly different and has a beige colour theme instead of the all-black scheme seen on the EV's fossil-fuel-sipping sibling. Other anomalies include a rotary gear selector and a different instrument cluster.
The Tata Altroz EV measures 3,988 mm in length, 1,754 mm in width and 1,505 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,501 mm. It draws its juice from a permanent magnet AC motor that is mated to a single-speed gearbox. The battery takes 60 minutes for a 0-80% charging, presumably via a fast charger, and is expected to offer a driving range of 250-300 km.

The Tata Altroz EV will be launched by early 2021. The regular Tata Altroz will be introduced in the middle of the current calendar year. The ICE-powered variant will rival the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. It will be a successor of the slow-selling Tata Bolt.
