Nissan will unveil a ‘Rhythm’ edition of the Kicks at the 2018 Sao Paulo Auto Show that will run from 8-18 November, 2018. Its main highlight is not the funky exterior styling but the differentiated sound experience it offers.
The Nissan Kicks Rhythm is the creation of the Nissan Design Studio in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Its sound quality is claimed to offer an experience like that of a live show or even a movie theatre to visitors to the brand’s booth at the show.
The customised SUV’s front headrests have two coaxial mid-range speakers each integrated into them. The rest of the sound system comprises two other coaxial speakers in each A-pillar, four door speakers and a subwoofer in the trunk. The occupants can select from multiple equaliser modes, including Live Jazz, Country, Rock and Cinema Sound.
Moving to the exclusive styling, the Nissan Kicks Rhythm is painted in grey and has gloss black and striking blue highlights all around. The blue colour is seen on the inside too, in the form of contrast stitching in the upholstery and the accents on the door panels and air vents. The rest of the interior is as is.
The Brazilian-spec Nissan Kicks employs a 1.6-litre flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol) engine that produces 114 CV (114 PS) at 5,600 rpm and 15.5 kgf.m (152.00 Nm) of torque at 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission sends power to the front wheels.

Nissan hasn’t revealed whether the Kicks Rhythm will remain a show car or reach the showrooms at some point. In India, the B0/Logan platform-based bigger version of the standard SUV will go on sale in January 2019.
