The facelifted Isuzu MU-X that hit the Thai market in February last year has finally made it to the Indian shores. Here, its prices start at INR 26,26,842*.
The facelifted Isuzu MU-X features a refreshed exterior and interior. At the front, the updated model is equipped with new Bi-LED auto-levelling projector headlamps with integrated light-guide and DRLs. On the sides, there are new 18-inch multi-spoke twist design diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear-end carries tweaked tail lights with accentuated LED position lights and a sharper, two-tone roof spoiler. One more exterior change is a shark-fin antenna replacing the pole antenna.
Inside, the design has remained mostly unchanged, but keen observers will notice that the ‘Isuzu MU-X’ badge on the dashboard is darker and that it is on the left now. Also new, are sportier ‘Lava Black’ premium upholstery and fine quilted leather seats. Safety has improved, with six airbags (including front, side and curtain) now included as standard as opposed to two airbags in the old model.
The Isuzu MU-X still employs the familiar 3.0-litre Ddi VGS Turbo Hi-Power four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 177 PS at 3,600 rpm and 380 Nm of torque at 1,800-2,800 rpm. A 5-speed automatic transmission remains standard. As before, a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system is available as an option in the D-segment SUV.

The new Isuzu MU-X competes directly with the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the Indian market. These 7-seat mid-size SUVs cost INR 26,20,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and 26,32,800 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.
