The new Hero MotoCorp Xtreme 200R has received a marginal price hike since it was launched on July 5, 2018. The motorcycle, which was launched at INR 88,000 (ex-showroom), is now priced at INR 89,900 (ex-showroom) on the Company’s official website. Hero MotoCorp also announced the new pricing in its official sales report for August. The company commenced nationwide dispatch of the new Xtreme 200R in August 2018.

The motorcycle features a 200cc air-cooled, BS-IV compliant engine that is tuned to produce 18.4 PS of maximum power @ 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque @ 6,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. 0 to 60 km/h is claimed to take 4.6s seconds while the top speed is rated at 114 km/h. The engine is equipped with additional balancers that are aimed to deliver smooth power delivery by cutting first order vibrations.
Stopping power is provided by 276 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc brakes. The motorcycle gets a single-channel ABS as standard.
The motorcycle has been designed and developed by Hero MotoCorp’s in-house R&D team, at the Hero Centre of Innovation and Technology, Jaipur. The list of features in the motorcycle includes eyebrow-shaped LED Pilot Lamps and LED Tail Lamp with guide lights and a digital-analogue information cluster. Suspension duties are performed by conventional telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock.
The motorcycle is available in five colour options:
- Heavy Grey with Orange
- Black with Sports Red
- Sports Red
- Panther Black with Force Silver
- Techno Blue

The motorcycle competes against the likes of the TVS Apache RTR200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
Meanwhile, Hero MotoCorp has announced its Year-On-Year sales numbers for the month of August. The two-wheeler brand clocked 685,047 unit sales in August 2018 as against 678,797 units in the corresponding month last year. Hero MotoCorp has recorded a record 3,469,661 unit sales of two-wheelers in the first five months (April-August 2018) of this financial year (FY’19), thereby registering a growth of 10% over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
