Russia has received a limited-edition ‘Joy’ model of the VW Polo (VW Vento) sedan. Sales of the VW Polo Joy are limited to 500 units.
The VW Polo is available in Russia in six grades: Conceptline, Trendline, Drive, Comfortline, Highline and GT. The VW Polo Joy is based on the Comfortline grade. Its main highlight is its two-tone exterior colour scheme. Three options are available: Copper Orange with Deep Black, Reflex Silver with Deep Black and Tungsten Grey with Ruby Red. The roof and ORVM are painted in the contrasting colour of these colour schemes. Other exterior features include LED headlights with daytime running lights, 15-inch Woodstock alloy wheels and darkened tail lights.
Inside, Volkswagen equips the Polo Joy with features like the R340 multimedia system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display and four speakers, Climatronic automatic climate control system and heated front seats.
The VW Polo Joy is available with three engine options. The entry-level option is the 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine that produces 90 PS and 155 Nm of torque, in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission. Above that, there’s the 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine that develops 110 PS and 155 Nm of torque. This engine sends power to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The top-tier option is the 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine good for 125 PS and 200 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The VW Polo Joy’s prices start at 8,04,900 rubles (INR 8,37,331.47). Volkswagen says that the special edition offers savings of up to 1,20,000 rubles (INR 1,24,835.11) when compared to similarly specced regular VW Polo. The special edition is made at the Volkswagen Group Rus plant in Kaluga.
