The India-made new VW Polo GT 180 TSI is on display at GIIAS 2018. Here are live images from the show.
The VW Polo GT 180 TSI is the only VW Polo on sale in Indonesia currently, as per Volkswagen Indonesia’s website. New to the car this year, are the 16-inch alloy wheels borrowed from the VW Polo VRS that debuted at IIMS 2018 in April. It doesn’t get these alloy wheels in a black finish, however.
The body kit comprising underbody spoilers and a roof spoiler look the same. Unlike in the last year’s model, the satin silver-look mirror caps aren’t included. The grey/blue decals are new to the car.
The VW Polo GT 180 TSI, as per the VW Indonesia spec sheet, employs the same engine as the VW Polo GT TSI sold in India. It’s the 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder unit that develops 105 PS at 5,000 rpm and 175 Nm of torque at 1,500-4,100 rpm. Like any other fifth-gen VW Polo, the GT 180 TSI is a front-wheel-drive model. Power goes to the wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electronic locking differential.

Electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors, leather-wrap steering and gearshift knob, height-adjustable front seats, Climatronic automatic climate control system and RCD 320 G multimedia system are some of the key features of the VW Polo GT 180 TSI. On the safety front, in addition to EDL, Volkswagen equips the car with ABS, Anti-Slip Regulation system (traction control system), engine drag torque control, dual airbags and rear parking sensors as well.
