Demo units of the Toyota Yaris have started reaching dealerships in India, images posted by GaadiWaadi have revealed. The new sedan’s pre-bookings will open today.
The Toyota Yaris measures 4,425 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,475 mm in height. It has a 2,560 mm wheelbase and a 133 mm ground clearance. Toyota Kirloskar Motor will offer it with a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit produces 109 PS and 140 Nm of torque. It is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable transmission. A diesel engine option is not planned.
The Toyota Yaris will arrive as the safest contender in its segment. TKM will offer 7 airbags and ABS with EBD and BA as standard. Higher grades will include two front parking sensors, four rear parking sensors, reverse camera, VSC, HAC, TPMS and all-wheel disc brakes as well. Projector headlamps, 15-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and gesture control, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, 60:40 split rear seats and adjustable rear centre headrest are some of the other main features.

The Toyota Yaris will compete with the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid in India. Its production takes place at TKM's Bidadi plant in Karnataka.
