Last month, it was reported that the Nissan Terra will reach Thailand in the second half of the year. Now, a report from Autonetmagz says that Nissan will launch this model in Indonesia as well.
The Nissan Terra is based on the latest Nissan Navara, which in Thailand, is built at the company’s second plant located in Samutprakarn. The pickup truck made there is already exported to Indonesia. Later this year, Nissan will start shipping the Thai-made Terra as well to the country, as per the report.
Nissan will introduce the Nissan Terra at Auto China 2018 (2018 Beijing Motor Show). The Chinese-spec version measures 4,885 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width and 1,835 mm in height. It has a 2,850 mm wheelbase. The company will offer this model in its first market with the QR25 135 kW (184 PS) 2.4L naturally aspirated petrol engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic transmission. Select configurations will feature a 4WD system.
In Thailand, Indonesia and other Asian markets, Nissan is likely to offer the Terra with a diesel engine. The company may choose from the YD25DDTi 2.5-litre turbocharged, YS23DDT 2.3-litre turbocharged and YS23DDTT 2.3-litre twin-turbo units employed by the Nissan Navara.

Nissan is evaluating a number of new SUVs for India, as it works on shifting focus to premium products. It may launch the Nissan Terra in the country sometime in 2019. The 7-seat SUV could reach our market, albeit with a different name, in CKD kits imported from Thailand, with the local assembly taking place at the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Tamil Nadu.
