UM is working on a 230 cc engine, and will showcase the bike at the 2018 India Auto Expo in February, reports Bikewale.
As per the website, the 230 cc powerplant will be a single cylinder unit with air cooling. The company is reportedly developing the engine to make its portfolio more affordable. The engine will produce approximately 19 bhp of power. The upcoming motorcycle featuring the new engine will be a cruiser, and will share a majority of the cycle parts with the existing Renegade range. However, the design of the bike will be different enough to demarcate the motorcycle from the rest of the models.

Currently, the most affordable UM motorcycle is the Renegade S, which costs INR 1,59,652, ex-showroom, Delhi. Powering the Renegade S is a 279.5cc single cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The mill makes 25.15 PS of power at 8,500 rpm, and 23 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine mates with a 6-speed transmission. Unique features include LED lights on the sides of the fuel tank, and a USB port in the instrument cluster.
Suspension bits include 41 mm telescopic front fork, and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The 17-inch front and the 16-inch rear alloys are shod with 110-section and 140-section tyres respectively. A 280 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum handle the braking duty. To further expand its business, UM also plans to develop and manufacture motorcycles between 300-700cc in the country. The company launched the Renegade Commando Classic, and Commando Mojave in September.
