Ford Figo Cross (Ford Figo Freestyle) to feature touchscreen infotainment system as standard - Report

New details about the Ford Figo Cross (Ford Figo Freestyle) have surfaced on the web. According to a report from Autocar India,  Ford will offer the new hatchback with a touchscreen infotainment system as standard.

The Ford Figo Cross (Ford Figo Freestyle) will have a 15 mm higher ground clearance than the Ford Figo.

The Ford Figo Cross (name TBC) is basically a rugged variant of the Ford Figo. It will preview the facelifted Figo’s exterior and interior design. The Figo Cross’ basic grades will get a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Its higher-end grades will feature the 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system. Fitted with six airbags, the top-tier configurations will offer high safety as well.

On the outside, the Ford Figo Cross will have new headlights, grille and bonnet. These elements will make it to the Figo and Aspire with the facelift. Spy shots have shown that the Figo Cross will feature extra body cladding, black decals, black ORVMs and black roof rails as well. The Cross variant will have a ground clearance of 189 mm, 15 mm higher than that of the regular Figo (174 mm).

The Ford Figo Cross will debut a new 1.2-litre petrol engine from the Dragon engine family. The naturally aspirated three-cylinder mill produces a class-leading 95 hp and 115 Nm of torque. It will send power to the front wheels via the new, MX65 5-speed manual transmission from Getrag. The Cross variant will have a wider track and 185/60 R15 wheels. Ford has tuned its steering and suspension differently.

The Ford Figo Cross or Ford Figo Freestyle, whatever Ford decides to name it, will go on sale in India by June this year.
