Toyota's rugged mid-size SUV gets its second facelift.
After revising the Toyota Land Cruiser in 2015, Toyota is ready with the facelift of the smaller Toyota Land Cruiser Prado this year. Images shared by Instagram user hamad1two3 has revealed the exterior and interior of the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
Below is a visual comparison between the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
This is the second facelift for the fourth generation Toyota Land Cruiser Prado which arrived in 2009. Toyota has completely changed the front fascia of the SUV, with sleeker and more aggressive headlamps, a more prominent 5-slot upper grille, a thin full-width chrome strip above the headlamps and upper grille, a chunkier bumper and reshaped lower grille and fog lamps. At the rear, the tail lamps are darker and have new graphics, and the skid plate and roof spoiler are redone.
The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has received extensive changes indoors too. The new four-spoke steering wheel is apparently borrowed from its big brother - the Toyota Land Cruiser 200. The revised centre console also has a resemblance to the full-size SUV. The instrument panel and infotainment system too are new. All in all, the updated cabin looks far more premium.
Any change to the engine options of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, if planned, are yet unreported. The current model is available with a variety of petrol and diesel engines globally, including the 2TR-FE 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol, 7GR-FKS 3.5-litre V6 petrol, 1GR-FE 4.0-litre V6 petrol, 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre four-cylinder, diesel, 1KD-FTV 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel and 5L-E 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel units.
On the safety front, the new model will receive the Toyota Safety Sense P suite of advanced features, including Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist function, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, as standard. Availability of the new safety kit will depend on the region.
Last month, Japanese media reported that Toyota would introduce the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado on 12 September 2017.
