The current Toyota Land Cruiser Prado received a facelift in 2013 and is set to extend its life with another cosmetic uplift this year. A report last month said that the second facelift is due this July, but Japanese media now says that Toyota Motor will introduce the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado on 12 September 2017.

The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will feature LED lighting as standard, styling changes on the front and safety upgrades.

The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will feature LED lighting as standard, styling changes on the front fascia and safety upgrades. The exterior is not expected to change as drastically as it did in the previous facelift. Interior changes will include modifications to the instrument panel, lower-positioned air conditioning vents, a new 8-inch navigation system and a new-look steering wheel with a design similar to the Toyota Crown.

The new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will offer the driver, passengers and even pedestrians more safety with Toyota Safety Sense P as standard. Toyota Safety Sense P is a suite of advanced safety features which include Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist function, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

The current JDM-spec Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is offered with the 2TR-FE 2.7-litre petrol engine that produces 120 kW (163 PS) at 5,200 rpm and 246 Nm of torque and the 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre diesel engine good for 130 kW (177 PS) and 450 Nm of torque.
