Harley Davidson has launched the 2018 Softail range in India commemorating their 115th Anniversary year. The Fat Boy, Heritage Classic, Fat Bob, and Street Bob have gone on sale priced between INR 11.99 lakhs and INR 18.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The cheapest model in the new 2018 Harley Davidson Softail lineup is the Street Bob priced at INR 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Fat Bob and Fat Boy that were present at the launch are priced at INR 13.99 lakhs and INR 17.49 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi respectively.
2018 Harley-Davidson Range engine and specifications
All 2018 Softail models get the new Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin. It has a 45-degree V-Twin cylinder setup. These new Milwaukee-Eight engines also feature a refined, dual internally counter-balanced system that reduces engine vibration. The company claims that these bikes are now 10% faster to the 0-60 MPH (0-96.6 km/h) and in-gear acceleration (60-80 mph/5th gear) has improved by 16%.
As per the information released by the company, the frame is 65% stiffer than the outgoing Softail design resulting in a 34% increase in overall chassis stiffness. Its design also achieves reduced complexity with a 50% reduction in component parts and 22% reduction in welds.
The 2018 Harley Davidson Fat Boy features a 160 mm front tyre and 240 mm rear tyre wrapped around solid Lakestar wheels. ABS is offered as standard. The motorcycle is 16 kg lighter than its predecessor. The 2018 Heritage Classic features a new detachable windscreen and new rigid, lockable, sealed, water-resistant saddlebags. The total reduction in weight in comparison to the outgoing model amounts to 17 kg. Cruise control and ABS are offered as standard fitment.

Highlights of the 2018 Harley Davidson Fat Bob include a 2-1-2 upswept performance exhaust with a custom finish, 150 mm front and 180 mm rear tyres, dual disc front brakes, a 13.2-litre fuel tank, and Inverted 43mm cartridge-style front forks. The Fat Bob has managed to shed 15 kg. The lowest priced model, the Street Bob features a smooth-top 13.2-litre fuel tank, black spoke wheels with chopped fenders and a low-profile riser-mounted digital instrument screen.
