Ford displayed the 2018 Ford EcoSport at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show. The facelifted Ford EcoSport is now rolling out in markets worldwide.
The Ford EcoSport has received a mid-life facelift for MY2018. Ford has brought notable changes to the mini-SUV’s front end and interior. Exterior changes include larger headlamps, new hexagonal grille, redesigned front bumper, triangular front fog lamps and new alloy wheels. The interior looks a lot more premium now. The steering wheel, instrument panel and centre console have a new design, while the dashboard gets a grab bar on the passenger side now. There’s a floating central display for the new SYNC 3 infotainment system.
Ford is yet to release the 2018 Ford EcoSport in the Middle East. The pre-facelift Ford EcoSport, which is still on sale in the region, is powered by the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT four-cylinder petrol engine. 5-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic are the transmission choices. The facelifted Ford EcoSport may get the new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT three-cylinder petrol engine from the Dragon engine family. In that case, Ford would replace the 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 123 PS and 150 Nm of torque.
Ford builds the Middle East-spec Ford EcoSport at the Chennai plant in India. Market launch of the 2018 Ford EcoSport in UAE should take place in early 2018.
