Along with the introduction of the Figo-based Freestyle crossover, Ford is planning an overhaul for the Figo and Aspire twins. A recent report from Overdrive states that the 2018 Ford Aspire facelift will be launched in India this June.
The sedan derivative of the Ford Figo has been spotted testing on Indian as well as foreign soil on multiple occasions. Exterior updates will be similar to the 2018 Ford Freestyle (Ford Ka+ Active) and 2018 Ford Ka+ that were unveiled earlier this year. Updates will come in the form of a new hexagonal grille and reprofiled bumpers. Spy shots of the 2018 Ford Aspire from January revealed new 8-spoke alloy wheels and reverse parking sensors as well.
On the inside, the most significant update will be the addition of a floating touchscreen that gives access to the SYNC3 infotainment setup. It will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A reverse parking camera could be another addition to the features list.
Ford will equip the updated Aspire with an all-new petrol engine. The mill in question is the 1.2 L 3-cylinder unit that launches on the Ford Freestyle scheduled to launch in April. The engine will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The report adds that the Aspire could get the EcoSport's 1.5 L 3-cylinder petrol unit as well. This engine could replace the current 1.5 L 4-cylinder Ti-VCT petrol that is available exclusively with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
