The last unit of the Ford Aspire in its current form has rolled off the production line to make way for the facelift. This information was revealed through an image shared by a Facebook user. Expect production of the Ford Aspire facelift to commence soon.
Ford launched the Aspire (initially known as Figo Aspire) in India in August 2015. It got off to a strong start selling over 15,000 units in a span of just three months. The Aspire is currently the second-best seller for Ford in India averaging just under 2,000 units a month.
The compact sedan derivative of the Figo hatchback will soon get a mid-life upgrade in the form of a facelift. The exterior changes to the front will be similar to the Ford Freestyle and the 2018 Ford Ka+ for Europe. Inside, the Maruti Dzire rival will gain a new touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, and parking sensors, features that have been missing from the Aspir so far.
Ford will equip the updated Figo and Aspire with a new 1.2 L 3-Cylinder petrol engine producing around 96 PS and 120 Nm. This engine will also power the Freestyle crossover. It will come paired with a new 5-speed manual transmission option. The 1.5 L TDCi diesel is expected to be carried over as is.
