Toyota unveiled the Toyota Yaris Ativ in Thailand in August this year. The new B-segment sedan is on display at the 2017 Thai Motor Expo.
The Toyota Yaris Ativ is a more economical sedan than the Toyota Vios, which takes on the likes of Honda City. It competes with budget-oriented sedans like the Nissan Almera (Nissan Sunny). The Toyota Yaris Ativ measures 4,425 mm in length, 1,730 mm in width and 1,475 mm in height. It is 5 mm longer and 30 mm wider than the Toyota Vios. Its wheelbase is the same, though - 2,550 mm. Its 133 mm of ground clearance, however, is 12 mm less than the Toyota Vios’.
The Toyota Yaris Ativ is powered by the 3NR-FE 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i engine. The four-cylinder petrol mill produces 86 PS at 6,000 rpm and 108 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A continuously variable transmission sends drive to the wheels. The budget sedan is available in J Eco, J, E, G and S grades. The display model seen in the images here is in the E grade.
Yaris Ativ E’s key features are, 15-inch alloy wheels, colour side mirrors with integrated turn signals and power folding function, gearshift knob with metallic trim, black/beige interior door handles, black or beige interior colour, MID, automatic climate control, audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and 4 speakers, steering mounted audio controls and (rear) parking sensors.
