KTM Sportmotorcycle GmbH has uploaded a video of its latest adventure concept, the KTM 790 Adventure R taking on the KTM Dakar Rally motorcycle. The video showcases the off-road prowess of the Concept bike. Though the Dakar bike strides over road undulations with relative ease, the Concept motorcycle manages to keep up with it.

The KTM 790 Adventure R Concept made its global debut at the 2017 EICMA Show held in Milan, Italy last month. KTM says the chassis is lightweight and extremely rugged. Nestling inside the chassis is the same LC8c engine that does duty on the KTM 790 Duke. In the Duke, the 799 cc parallel twin motor pushes out 105 PS of power at 9,000 rpm and 86 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Expect the engine to have more bottom end grunt in this motorcycle. The powerplant mates with a 6-speed gearbox.

The instrument cluster of the bike is similar to the navigation tower setup in Dakar bikes.

KTM says the production version of the prototype will come with the very best electronic rider assistance package. The production version of the bike was also spotted testing shortly after the concept's debut. Expect KTM to launch the production version at the 2018 EICMA scheduled from 6-11 November 2018.
