Dr Markus Braunsperger, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Hero MotoCorp and Head of Hero MotoSports has confirmed that the Hero XTreme 200S will be launched in India around the Auto Expo.
Braunsperger revealed the company’s launch plans of the bike on the sidelines of the Hero RR 450 Dakar bike unveil. Speaking to TOI, Braunsperger said:
If you might remember, I said that we will make the Xtreme 200S happen before the next Auto Expo. So you can expect the Xtreme around the Auto Expo. We are at the finish line. Even with the xPulse, we have received big, positive feedback which will further enhance our efforts to make it happen.

As per Braunsperger, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer also has plans to launch commuters between 110- 150 cc and beyond, as well as scooters in the next 1-1.5 years. He also added that the company will not be launching the production version of the Hero HX250R, but will introduce a better, more advanced bike than that. This decision is driven by the fact that the Indian market has moved from 250 to 300+ cc segment, in which Hero also wants to compete. Coming to the production version of the Hero XPulse, the brand will reportedly launch the motorcycle in mid-2018.
