Skoda launched the Skoda Octavia RS in India on 1 September, 2017. In just over a month and a half, the Skoda Octavia RS is sold out in the country.
Selling at INR 25,48,644*, the Skoda Octavia RS is the best bargain among the entry-level performance cars in India. Skoda was able to price the car so attractively by importing the car in CKDs and locally assembling them. According to a report from Autocar India, the the first lot consisted of around 250 units. The next deliveries will likely take place in early 2018.
The Skoda Octavia RS is characterised with its sportier styling and exclusive engine. On the outside, it features RS badge on the front grille, honeycomb design air dam, LED fog lamps in RS design, distinctive bumpers with RS red inserts, 17-inch Hawk Anthracite alloy wheels, red brake callipers, RS badge on the bootlid. RS Sport decklid spoiler and dual trapezoidal tailpipes.
Inside, the performance sedan has RS door sills (front), stainless Aludesign pedals, Alcantara RS leather seat upholstery, 3-spoke Sport design leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitching and RS logo, leather wrapped sport gear knob with RS logo, leather wrapped hand-brake lever and 9.2-inch Amundsen touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.
The Skoda Octavia RS is 4,689 mm long, 1,814 mm wide and 1,496 mm tall. It is 19 mm longer and 20 mm taller than the Skoda Octavia. The RS variant’s wheelbase, however, at 2,679 mm, is 9 mm shorter than that of the standard variant. Skoda has equipped it with sports chassis and the electronically regulated XDS+ limited-slip differential. While the regular Octavia offers a ground clearance of 155 mm, the Octavia RS offers a ground clearance of 141 mm (-14 mm).
The Skoda Octavia RS is available in the RS 230 model in India. This model sports the 2.0-litre TSI engine producing 230 PS from 5,500-6,200 rpm and 350 Nm of torque from 1,500-4,500 rpm. The turbocharged petrol engine sends power to the front wheels via the 6-speed DSG transmission. ARAI has given a fuel rating of 14.45 km/l, which is impressive for a car this powerful. The Skoda Octavia RS 230 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 250 km/h.

The Skoda Octavia RS is available in colours: Race Blue, Steel Grey, Corrida Red and Candy White. All colours except the latter are exclusive to the RS variant.
