Renault has delayed the launch of the Captur in India according to CarDekho. The SUV was expected to arrive in showrooms by Diwali. The report claims that the launch of the Renault Captur will now take place sometime in November.
The reason for the delay has not been specified by CarDekho. Renault has also remained tight-lipped regarding the launch of Captur. There has been some speculation suggesting Renault is still deliberating the pricing of the Captur, however, this remains unconfirmed. Bookings for the Renault Captur have been underway since September 22 and can be made online or through the Renault CAPTUR app for INR 25,000.
The Captur will become Renault's flagship offering in India when launched. It will sit above the Duster priced between INR 11 lakhs and 15 lakhs according to estimates. At the official media drive, Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations hinted that the fully-loaded trim of the Renault Captur could cost around INR 15 lakhs. Although it is based on the same platform as the Duster and uses the same engines, the Renault Captur is a step up in terms of quality, fit and finish, and the features on offer.
The range-topping Platine trim includes features like LED headlamps, floating side indicators, Ripple-Effect LED tail lamps, Sapphire LED DRLs, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the Captur boasts a 7-inch touchscreen with navigations support, four airbags, leather upholstery, LED cabin lighting, and an 'Infinity' instrument console.
