The second-gen Honda HR-V debuted in 2013, originally as the Honda Vezel. According to a report from Argentina Autoblog, Honda has started formulating plans for its third generation model/replacement now.
Honda is yet to decide whether to carry over the ‘Honda HR-V’ nameplate or use a new name for its future B-SUV. Speaking to journalists in Japan, Honda Argentina President Hideki Kamiyama said that the company is thinking of building the next-gen Honda HR-V in Campana, Argentina. This plant is one of the many production locations for the current HR-V.
The new Honda sub-compact SUV’s project is likely still in the early phases of its development. Mr. Kamiyama has said that Honda is yet to decide whether to carry over the current Honda HR-V’s platform or utilise a new one. He has confirmed, though, that the current Honda HR-V will not sell alongside its successor. The launch will take place in 2020.
