M&M has launched the facelifted model of the Mahindra KUV100 as the Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Here’s how the Mahindra KUV100 NXT differs from the Mahindra KUV100.
The Mahindra KUV100 was launched in India just back in January 2016. Its off-beat design did not appeal the Indian customers as intended, however. Hence the early facelift.
Mahindra has levelled up the aggression of the crossover with a new clamshell bonnet, more athletic bumpers with (faux) silver skid plates, new toothed upper grille, a more imposing air dam grille, new door & sill cladding, new flared wheel arches with wheel cladding and new muscular body lines.
Also new, are the dual chamber headlamps with LED DRLs, fog lamps with black bezel surrounds, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and double barrel clear lens tail lamps. At the rear, the Mahindra KUV100 NXT features redesigned tail gate and new roof spoiler with ‘Aero’ corners also.
The Mahindra KUV100 was available in K2/K2+, K4/K4+, K6/K6+ and K8 grades. The Mahindra KUV100 is available only in K2/K2+, K4+, K6+ and K8 grades. The old model had Grey interior theme in all except the dual-tone variant which featured Sporty Black interior theme. The new model gets Premium Grey interior theme in all grades except K8, which has Premium & Sporty Black interior theme.
The Mahindra KUV100 NXT boasts a host of new technologies that enhance comfort, convenience and onboard entertainment experience. The new ORVMs have power folding function, the tailgate latch is now electrically operable, and there are Intellipark reverse parking sensors for the ease of parking. Mahindra has redesigned the centre console to house a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation and a new electronic temperature control panel. The list includes new driver information system with voice alerts, twin-pod cluster with gearshift alerts and remote boot opening key as well.

The Mahindra KUV100 was 3,675 mm long, 1,705 mm/1,715 mm (with door side cladding) wide and 1,655 mm tall (with roof rails). The Mahindra KUV100 NXT is 3,700 mm long, 1,735 mm wide and 1,655 mm tall.
The engine options are the same as in the pre-facelift model: 1.2L mFalcon D80 petrol and 1.2L mFalcon D75 diesel. The petrol engine produces 82 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. The diesel engine develops 77 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. Mahindra has, however, reduced the engine noise for a quieter drive through new mounts and improved door seals. As before, a 5-speed manual transmission sends drive to the front wheels.
Mahindra says that the Mahindra KUV100 NXT has high approach and departure angles and a longer suspension travel. Reports say that the company has improved the approach angle (29 degrees) and departure angle (20 degrees), and increased the suspension travel (front: 150 mm, rear: 200 mm).
