Following its global premiere last month at the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt, Suzuki is conducting the Japanese premiere of its newest hot hatch - the 2018 Swift Sport - at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. It will be priced between JPY 1,836,000 - JPY 2,050,920.
From the exterior, the third generation Suzuki Swift Sport is the most aggressive iteration yet. It features gaping front grille and sporty bumper design, aerodynamic front-lip spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and roof-end spoiler, as well as 17-inch polished alloy wheels and dual exhaust pipes. It can be had with a 7inch Panasonic touchscreen head unit with a 360-degree camera, sat-nav, Bluetooth and radio. Also available is a safety package comprising of Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS), Lane departure warning, Weaving alert function, and Adaptive cruise control.
Powering the Swift Sport is a 1.4-litre turbocharged 'Boosterjet' four-cylinder petrol mill that develops 140 PS at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque from 2,500-3,500 rpm in it. It can be had with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic (with paddle shifters) transmission, although there's no option of an AWD system. The JC08 rated fuel economy of the all-new Swift Sport is 16.4 km/l (6MT) and 16.2 km/l (6AT).
