The Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo has launched in India with prices starting at INR 10.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new launch expands the company's lineup to four models in India.
The Volkswagen Group launched the VW Polo GTI as the VW GTI in India last year. Now, with a similar nomenclature, it has brought the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo as the Skoda Monte Carlo.
The Skoda Monte Carlo gets exclusive styling with black exterior elements. Up front, the car has black radiator grille with a black border. The profile gets the unique touch with gloss black ORVMs, Monte Carlo badge on B-pillar, and 16-inch Monte Carlo dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, there's a subtle tailgate spoiler and sporty diffuser in black. Up top, a black roof foil complements the exterior theme. Two colour choices are available: Candy White and Flash Red.
The leather-clad flat bottomed steering wheel and gear knob with red detailing, Monte Carlo design leatherette seat upholstery and stainless foot pedals carry over the sporty theme inside. Other highlights include Monte Carlo design front door sill strips, piano black AC vents and sporty textile mats with red stitching.

Disappointingly, the Skoda Monte Carlo is available in the same four mechanical configurations as the Skoda Rapid. The 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine (105 PS/153 Nm) is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or the 6-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine (110 PS/250 Nm) is offered with 5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic transmission choices. The fuel economy figures are unchanged: 15.41 km/l (1.5L MT), 14.84 km/l (1.5 AT), 21.13 km/l (1.6 MT) and 21.72 km/l (1.6 AT).
