MSIL has added Alpha trims on the Ignis AMT. Both diesel and petrol AGS variants are now available in Alpha trim priced at INR 7.01 Lakhs and INR 8.08 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. Until now, the Ignis AMT was offered in Delta and Zeta trims.
The top end Alpha trim comes fully loaded with features such as 7-inch SmartPlay touchscreen AVN, automatic climate control, LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, puddle lamp, and driver seat height adjustment. At the time of its launch in January this year, Maruti had stated that Alpha will get the 5-speed AMT if there is customer demand.
Powering the Ignis is a 1.2 L K12 Petrol and a 1.3 L DDiS Diesel engine. The former produces 61 kW and 113 Nm while the latter has a power and torque output of 55.2 kW and 190 Nm respectively. The Maruti Ignis diesel AMT has an ARAI certified mileage of 26.80 km/l and the Ignis petrol AMT has a fuel consumption of 20.89 km/l overall.

Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) on the IGNIS, so far offered in the Delta and Zeta trims, has been widely appreciated by customers and accounts for 27 per cent of IGNIS sales. We are now offering AGS in the top trim as well - IGNIS Alpha. We expect this to strengthen brand IGNIS and enhance the popularity of AGS amongst millennials.
