After the introduction of the Vento Highline Plus and the Polo Highline Plus, Volkswagen India will launch the VW Ameo Highline Plus according to report by Autocar India. Like its hatchback sibling, the new trim of the compact sedan will come with additional features.
The Volkswagen Ameo Highline Plus will get 16-inch alloy wheels and a new infotainment unit that will double up as the display for the reverse parking camera. The LED headlamps from the Vento Highline Plus are likely to be given a miss due to their high cost. Test units of the Ameo shod with 16-inch Portago alloy wheels were spotted in January 2017 and the upcoming Highline Plus trim is likely to feature these rims.
The VW Ameo is powered by a 1.2 L MPi Petrol and a 1.5 L TDI Diesel mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the 1.5 L Diesel variant is also available with an optional 7-speed DSG automatic in the Trendline and Highline trim.
Autocar India reports that the price of the VW Ameo Highline Plus Petrol will range from INR 7.35 lakh to INR 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The diesel variants will be priced at INR 8.59 lakh - 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Highline Plus will not be available in the automatic variant.
VW launched the Ameo Petrol in June last year, followed by the diesel variant in September 2016. Prices of the Ameo start at INR 5.50 lakhs for the base petrol going up to INR 9.90 lakhs for the top of the line automatic diesel variant.
