The current model is fitted with smaller 15-inch ‘Tosa’ alloy wheels in the top-end Highline grade, while the lower grades get alloy wheel covers. The 16-inch alloy wheels could be exclusive to the Highline grade and will be shared with its siblings: Polo and Vento. It is unclear if Volkswagen has made suspension changes to offset the negative impact of the 16-inchers’ ride quality. The Portago design is sourced from the international-spec VW Polo.

The VW Vento comes with a 1.6L MPi, 1.2 TSI and 1.5 TDI (updated), available with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic (petrol) and 7-speed DSG (diesel).
