Suzuki has released one image of the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport and announced that the car will debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017).
The hot hatch finished in a shade of yellow is the third iteration of the Suzuki Swift Sport. The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport adopts the new Swift's more angular design, albeit with some unique touches for the unique, more aggressive look. The radiator grille looks bigger in length and width, and has a distinctive pattern. A honeycomb pattern is seen outside the fog lamp enclosures.
There's a black bumper lip spoiler at the front, and black rocker panels on the sides follows it. Unique alloy wheels are shod with low-profile tyres. The lower portion of the rear bumper is also finished in gloss black. On the inside, the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport could have an all-black colour theme, stainless steel sport pedals, leather steering wheel and sport seats with contrast stitching among other highlights.
Under the hood, the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport will swap the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine with a new 1.4-litre turbocharged engine. Essentially an upgraded version of the Suzuki Vitara's K14C BOOSTERJET unit, this four-cylinder petrol engine puts out 150 PS at 5,500 rpm and 25.0 kgf.m (245.17 Nm) of torque from 1,500-4,000 rpm. These are reported specifications and Suzuki hasn't released official details yet. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are the expected transmission choices. The Sport variant should have a beefier exhaust note delivered through the dual tail pipes.
