Skoda's new compact SUV to hit the European markets in H2 2017.

The Skoda Karoq was unveiled on Thursday in Stockholm, Sweden to some 500 guests, and for those who were not there, the company has put up static studio footage of the compact SUV to show its exterior and interior in the complete detail.

The Skoda Karoq, like the Skoda Kodiaq and every other Skoda SUV arriving in the foreseeable future, draws inspiration from the Skoda Vision S concept. At the front, a full three-dimensional radiator grille with vertical double slats is flanked by Bohemian glass art-inspired full-LED headlights with eight light strips which look like eyelashes. Between the headlights and a full-width air dam grille, stylish fog lamps are set at the outer ends.

Angular wheel arches give a rugged look, while 19-inch alloy wheels add to the sportiness of the SUV. A raked back glass and C-shaped LED tail lights at the rear round up the exterior design high points.

On the inside, the Skoda Karoq features an all-black theme. LED ambient lighting in the decorative door trims and the dashboard add elegance to the interior.

The Skoda Yeti successor is equipped with the latest in tech, with features such as a fully digital instrument panel - a Skoda-first - and the Columbus infotainment system with its 9.2-inch glass screen and advanced functions like navigation, SmartLink+, gesture control, LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot. Multiple drive modes (Normal, Eco, Sport, Individual and Off-Road), Climatronic automatic climate control, electrically adjustable seats and seat heating (front and rear) uplift the passenger's comfort.

The 140 kW (190 PS) 2.0-litre TDI model is fitted with an all-wheel drive system.

The Skoda Karoq will go on sale in first markets in the second half of 2017. There's no confirmation from the company or its Indian subsidiary, but local reports say that the model is India-bound.
