Could launch before the end of this year or early next year.
ThrustZone has uploaded photos of what it claims is the VW Polo GT TDI with the upgraded 1.5L TDI turbodiesel engine from the Ameo. It could launch before the end of this year or early next year.
In the Ameo and Vento (recently introduced), the new 1.5L TDI engine produces 110 PS at 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1,500-3,000 rpm, thanks to a larger turbocharger. Unlike the two sedans, the Polo GT TDI may continue to not offer a 7-speed DSG as an option, leaving the 5-speed manual gearbox as the only transmission.
No exterior changes are seen in the model spotted. Being the range-topping diesel variant, it gets 15-inch 'Estrada' alloy wheels, flat-bottom steering wheel, 'Milan' Titanschwarz fabric upholstery, ambient lighting, Climatronic' automatic air-conditioning, rear parking sensors, and dual airbags.

As part of the update the GT TDI could also get a touchscreen infotainment system with Mirrorlink connectivity, which is only available in the Polo Highline variant.
