New VW Golf expected to go on sale in early 2017.
Volkswagen has confirmed that the VW Golf Mk6 will get a “major update” next month.
Volkswagen hasn’t revealed teaser images, but there’s no surprise here, as both the exterior and interior were leaked in August. The 2017 VW Golf features tweaked headlamps, redesigned air dam grille, front bumper and front fog lamps and tweaked tail lights on the outside. A major interior change is the incorporation of the new touchscreen infotainment system similar to that of the VW Golf R Touch concept.
Along with conventional petrol and diesel engines, the 2017 VW Golf will come with a new 48-volt mild-hybrid system based on a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, with a target of 60 mpg mileage. Earlier this year it was reported that the facelifted Golf will be the company’s first car to be offered with new 1.5-litre engines that will replace the current 1.4- and 1.6-litre units.
With the world premiere confirmed for November, the 2017 VW Golf (facelift) should go on sale in European markets in early 2017.
