Following its global premiere at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo at the Zica, Tata Motors is showcasing the Tata Tiago at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, with accessories. The hatchback goes on sale later this month, following which it will be exported.
Under the hood of the Tiago is an all new 1.05-liter Revotorq three-cylinder common rail diesel engine with Multi Drive technology churning out 70 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,800-3,000 rpm. Also available is the all new 1.2-liter Revotron three-cylinder aluminum engine with MPFI and Multi Drive. The 1,199 cc engine has an output of 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm torque at 3,500 rpm. The Tata Tiago's kerb weight is rated at 1,080 kg for the diesel and 1,012 kg for the petrol variant.
Tata specifically highlights the 'City' and 'Eco' drive modes on the diesel variant with "seamless torque delivery" and low maintenance cost. The fuel tank has a capacity of 35 liters for both variants.
The hatchback measures 3,746 mm long, 1,647 mm in wide, 1,535 mm in high while the wheelbase is 2,400 mm in length. The Tiago gets 175/65 R14 alloy wheels with a ground clearance of 170 mm.
