Bookings underway in Indonesia.
PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM), the Indonesian subsidiary of Toyota, has started issuing invitations for the launch of the all-new 2016 Toyota Innova, which will take place on November 23 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The second generation Innova comes nearly 11 years after the introduction of the nameplate in Indonesia, the first market for the MPV.
Based on a stronger ladder-frame platform shared with the 2016 Toyota Fortuner and Hilux Revo, the 2016 Innova measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and 2,750 mm in wheelbase. It will be powered by Toyota's all-new 2.4-liter GD diesel engine, or a 2.0-liter VVT-i petrol engine in the Indonesian market. Both engines are offered with an option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Dealerships in Indonesia have started accepting bookings for the 2016 Innova, which will come in three main variants - G, V and Q. A touchscreen entertainment system, alloy wheels, ABS, EBD and three airbags will be standard across all trims.
According to reports, the 2016 Innova will have its premiere in India sometime next year. The MPV is the best-seller for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), and finds acceptance in the private as well as the fleet market.
