Front seats' engineering inspired from NASA for better ergonomics.
The Euro-spec Nissan Navara named the Nissan NP300 Navara has debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The NP300 has been designed in-keeping with the requirements of the European market. It is also manufactured in Europe and has a rugged and sporty overall styling. The fascia gets the signature V-Motion grille, projector headlight units with boomerang-shape LED DRLs and a wide bumper grille between circular fog lamps encased in chrome housing. The sides get flared wheel arches with turn indicators integrated in to the side mirrors and silver-finished roof rails.
The interiors get a redesigned dashboard that gets a sculpted appearance. Nissan says that the front seats get spinal support and better ergonomics and have been engineered using technology inspired from NASA. Additional features include dual-zone digital climate control, rear cab ventilation and seat design.
The NP300 is powered by a 2.3-litre tiwn-turbo dCi engine available in two power outputs of 158.2 bhp and 187.7 bhp. These engines are married to a standard 6-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Nissan claims that the new engines are up to 24 per cent more efficient than the ones they replace. The pickup can be bought in two- or four-wheel drive options.
Nissan has endowed the Navara with a long list of equipment such as Around View Monitor and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Cruise Control, Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), parking sensors, keyless entry, rear camera etc.
