Jaguar F-Pace revealed on eve of 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show – IAB Report
Riza Rizvi, Hopelessly in love with everything on four wheels. Interested in cars since my formative years, with an unhealthy affinity for exotics and tuners. Fondness for the open road with high-octane machinery for company!
Boasts of chassis technology derived from the F-Type.
Jaguar has finally revealed the F-Pace crossover on the eve of the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The company says that it has unrivaled dynamics with everyday usability.
The F-Pace is based on Jaguar’s lightweight aluminium architecture and shares many of its design elements with the C-X17 concept vehicle unveiled at the same venue two years ago. The front gets slim LED headlights and a muscular bonnet while the sides feature 22-inch forged wheels. The rear carries elements of the F-Type sports car such as the powerful haunches, fender vents and distinctive tail light graphics.
The crossover has short overhangs and this coupled with a length of 4,731 mm and wheelbase of 2,874 mm make for a spacious cabin. There is a huge amount of storage space too which is rated at 650 liters.
The cabin is said to be spacious where five adult occupants can be seated in “absolute comfort” with generous knee and head room. Jaguar claims industry-leading infotainment and connectivity with its InControl Touch Pro system that comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen system. The infotainment unit is equipped with a quad-core processor, solid state drive and runs on an Ethernet connection. It also has WiFi hotspot support for eight devices simultaneously. The navigation system displays information in 3D on the 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster.
The crossover will be powered by the new Ingenium range of engines. These are a 2.0-liter diesel producing 180 PS and available in both manual and automatic; a 3.0-liter diesel capable of 300 PS and offered in automatic only; a 2.0-liter petrol generating 240 PS coupled to automatic gearbox; and a 340 and 380 PS 3.0-liter petrol engine married to the automatic unit.
Once launched, the lineup will include F-Pace Pure, F-Pace Prestige, F-Pace Portfolio, F-Pace R-Sport, F-Pace S, and F-PaceFirst Edition.
