The next generation Ford Taurus has been spotted in the metal for the first time since its world debut at the Auto Shanghai 2015. The Ford Tarus adopts a simple exterior design with cues from the Ford Fusion/Mondeo.

Exterior wise, the new Ford Taurus seems to draw heavy design influence from the model that it sits above - the Ford Fusion/Mondeo. It features the characteristic hexagonal radiator chrome grille flanked by sweptback LED headlamps with daytime running lights and chrome enclosures for intakes on each sides.

It sits on 19-inch 10-spoke wheels, and features wraparound LED taillights, sculpted rear spoiler, and chrome exhaust tips integrated in the bumper. Measuring 4996 mm long, 1878 mm wide, 1503 tall, with a wheelbase of around 2950 mm, the Taurus promises “abundant” leg room for rear passengers, a key point Chinese premium car buyers look for.

The interior design of the Ford Taurus follows a dual cockpit design, and features a two-tone leather interior. Taking the center stage above the Sony music system is the 10.1-inch SYNC infotainment system, which integrates most of the interior functions into the touchscreen display.

Ford has also paid attention to the rear passengers by equipping the rear cabin with high power-reclining rear seats with optional adjustable lumbar support and massage function. A folding-down center seat cushion reveals a control panel for the seat positioning, media and HVAC.
