General Motors has finally revealed the second generation of the international-spec Chevrolet Cruze, which will also replace the current Chevrolet Cruze in India over time. Compared to the first generation model, it is larger yet lighter, and more efficient thanks to a new platform and revised engine lineup.

The exterior design is more aero-focused and sharper than the China-exclusive 2015 Chevrolet Cruze launched last year. Up front, the new Cruze features an hexagonal air intake flanked by new fog lamps, sleeker swept-back headlights with LED DRLs flowing into a thin grille above the hexagonal intake.
The side profile features new wing mirrors and updated C-Pillar design, while the rear sports new horizontal taillamps and a sporty bumper.

However, the interior design is identical to the Chinese-spec Cruze’s interior. It features a familiar dual cockpit design, more up-scale leather upholstery and trim, new 3-spoke steering wheel and instrument cluster with a large MID. Chevrolet will offer a 7-inch MyLink infotainment display as standard for the 2016 Cruze, as well as an optional 8-inch MyLink display for top-end variants.
In North America, the 2016 Cruze sources power from a standard 1.4L turbocharged engine delivering 153 horsepower and 240 Nm. Paired to either a six speed manual or automatic, it enables the 2016 Cruze to hit 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds.
