Unveiled in Detroit last month, the GT's production site of Ontario, Canada, was confirmed at the Chicago Auto Show.

Both companies have collaborated before on racing projects, most recently on the Mustang Boss 302R that competes in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, boosting the odds of the new GT participating in professional sportscar racing.

Developed by the Ford Performance division, the two-seat sportscar is made with carbon fiber and will harness power from a twin-turbo V6 engine with 600+hp output, paired to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. It is set to have the best power to weight ratio for any car to have been made when it hits the market next year.
