2015 Skoda Octavia RS with AWD unveiled - IAB Report

Skoda has announced that the diesel variant of the 2015 Skoda Octavia RS will exclusively be available with an AWD system. This is the first time that Skoda's AWD system has been fitted to the performance-oriented Octavia RS line.

The diesel motor is a 2.0-liter TDI unit producing 184 hp and 380 Nm between 1,750-3,250 rpm. It is paired to a 6-speed DSG gearbox as standard. With the AWD system in place, the Octavia RS diesel is capable of sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. Fuel mileage is rated at 4.9 L/100 km (20.4 km/L), with a corresponding CO₂emission of 129 g/km.

The new variant gets the mechanical upgrades from the FWD version, which include sports-tuned suspension, electronic differential lock XDS+, and a progressive electric steering.

Skoda has also announced that the third generation Octavia RS has garnered success in its segment - selling more than 58,000 units since its introduction in 2013.
