Deliveries in key Asia Pacific markets to start next month.
Ford has started production of the new generation 2015 Ford Everest (what will launch in India as the 2015 Ford Endeavour) at the Auto Alliance Thailand (AAT) production facility in Rayong, Thailand last week.
AAT is one of two plants announced to manufacture the new Everest, the other being the JMC Xiaolan Plant in Nanchang, China, which will cater exclusively to the Chinese market.
The AAT plant will also export the new Everest to markets in the Asia Pacific region, Ford announced. For the Indian market, AAT will supply the SUV in the form of CKD (completely knocked down) kits, which will then be assembled by Ford India's Chennai plant, as it is doing currently.
Customer deliveries of the Everest in key Asia Pacific regions, like Thailand and Philippines will start from August. Ford will offer a 2.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, a 2.2-liter TDCi diesel and a range-topping 3.2-liter five-cylinder TDCi diesel engine which will be coupled to a 6-speed AT and a 4WD system using a Terrain Management System as standard.
A SYNC2 entertainment system with a touchscreen, ESC, Active Park Assist, Roll Stability Control, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, an Active Transfer case, a 225 mm ground clearance and an 800 mm water wading depth will be some of the key features on the Endeavour.
