Is available in five and seven seat versions.
The European specification 2015 Kia Sorento which was unveiled online recently has made its first public appearance at the Paris Motor Show 2014.
Unlike the previous iterations, the third gen Sorento doesn't borrow its design language from its cousin Hyundai Santa Fe and gets a standalone design theme.
The signature 'tiger nose' grille with diamond pin detailing is the centre point of the new crossover's design. The exterior styling was done by Kia's Namyang design centre in Korea.
The overall design is contemporaneity yet a little conservative. The new Sorento measures 4,780 mm in length (90 mm longer), 1,685 mm in height (15 mm shorter) and 2,780 mm in wheelbase (80 mm longer) while the width remains unchanged at 1,885 mm.
Coming to the powertrain options, the petrol is a 188 PS/241 Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder, while the diesels are a 185 PS/402 Nm 2.0-liter and a 200 PS/441 Nm 2.2-liter unit. All three engines can be optionally mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Advanced safety features on the new Sorento include ASCC (Adaptive Smart Cruise Control); LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System),; BSD (Blind-Spot Detection),; and RCTA (Rear Cross-Traffic Alert).
