Tata Motors have launched the Tata Indica CR4 and the Tata Indigo eCS in the Nepali market through Sipradi Trading, the exclusive distributor for Tata vehicles in Nepal.
Both, the Indica and Indigo eCS were updated cosmetically and mechanically in June last year. The mechanical updates came in the form of a new Duo Float suspension, an updated TA65 gearbox, an improved clutch and an upgraded NVH package.
Cosmetically, the eCS benefitted from a new grille, smoked headlight clusters, chrome enclosed foglights and mildly freshened up interiors. Tata also rolled out a new body color on both cars. In the Indian market, CNG variants of these cars were also introduced at the same time.
Both cars are powered by the four-cylinder 16-valve Common Rail BS4 engine which displaces 1,396 cc and produces 70 PS of power at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1,800-3,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is the only choice of transmission on these cars. The ARAI rated efficiency stands at 25 km/l.
The Indica CR4 is priced from 1.94 to 1.99 million Nepali Rupee (INR 12.1 lakhs to INR 12.38 lakhs) and the Indigo eCS is priced from 2.4 to 2.6 million Nepali Rupee (INR 14.9 lakhs to INR 16.29 lakhs). Both cars are available in a range of four colors.
