General Motors have revealed the interior of the next generation Chevrolet Cruze, ahead of a Chinese launch that will take place before the end of this year. The new Cruze had its world debut at the Auto China 2014 in April this year, but the interiors of the car were a secret until now.
Like the current generation Cruze, the interior of the new model sports the dual-cockpit design, which according to the company is inspired by cars like the Corvette and Camaro.
Seen inside are a 3-spoke multifunction leather steering wheel, an instrument cluster with blue highlights, hand-stitched saddle brown leather seats and dashboard, an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring Chevy's MyLink II system with voice controls and Bluetooth connectivity.
The new Cruze is larger than the current model inside thanks to optimization of the structure of the car. Engineers were able to increase interior space by moving forward the cowl point of the car, and by using downsized engines which require lesser space.
In China the Cruze will be available with a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and a naturally-aspirated 1.5-liter unit. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
In India, Chevrolet has remained coy on introducing the new Cruze, though it wouldn't be a fantasy to expect the car's launch within the next couple of years.
